Carter LS Building is a building company based in Birmingham, West Midlands. We collect enquiry details to respond to your project and, if you accept analytics, website usage information. This policy explains how we handle personal data in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
What we collect
When you use the contact form on this website, we collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number
- Details of your project or enquiry
If you accept Google Analytics, Google also processes website usage information such as pages viewed, browser and device information, and cookie identifiers.
How we use your information
We use the enquiry details you send us to:
- Respond to your enquiry
- Arrange a site visit or provide a quote
Your enquiry is sent to us by email at info@carterlsbuilding.com. We do not use your information for marketing, we do not add you to mailing lists, and we do not sell or share your details with anyone for advertising.
Legal basis
We process your information on the basis of legitimate interests: you have contacted us about a potential project, and we need your details to reply. If we go on to carry out work for you, we process your information as necessary to perform the contract.
Hosting and analytics
This website is hosted on Vercel. Like most hosting providers, Vercel keeps server logs, which may include your IP address, for security and to keep the service running.
We use Vercel's cookieless web analytics to understand website usage.
With your consent, we also use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-F35LKHC0GZ) to measure visits and interactions. Google's tag is blocked until you accept analytics. We do not pass your enquiry name, email, phone number or message to Google Analytics. Advertising storage, advertising user data and personalised advertising remain disabled in our tag configuration.
You can withdraw analytics consent using Cookie settings in the footer. This stops further Google Analytics collection but does not erase data already collected. See our cookie policy for details and Google's privacy information for how Google handles data. Google may process information on infrastructure outside the UK.
How long we keep your information
We keep enquiry details for up to 24 months, so we can refer back to earlier conversations if you contact us again. After that, we delete them. If you become a customer, we keep records for as long as the law requires, for example for tax and warranty purposes.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct anything that is wrong
- Ask us to delete your information
- Object to or restrict how we use your information

Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). You can contact the ICO at ico.org.uk or by phone on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to resolve any concern first, so please contact us before going to the ICO if you can.
